Client Events

Use the control's ClientEvents collection editor to associate JavaScript with a client-side event. This is useful for browser interactions that need an immediate response.

Adding in Code

Call AddClientEventListener(name, script) on the control to register a handler. The method returns a listener ID that you can later pass to RemoveClientEventListener(id). Multiple listeners can be attached to the same event.

JavaScript Context

Client event handlers execute in the browser and receive the event argument as e. Work with client-side widgets through the JavaScript Object Model. A client event handler is JavaScript, so it cannot directly call a C# or VB.NET method as if it were running on the server.
