Shared Properties

All Wisej.NET controls derive from Wisej.Web.Control and share common properties and methods. These include appearance properties such as BackColor, Font, and Text, as well as features for layout and interaction.

The following sections describe shared properties. See Common Properties for further explanations and examples.

Anonymous

When Anonymous is true, pointer events pass through the control to its parent. For example, clicking an anonymous Button on a Page raises the pointer event on the Page instead of the Button.

For events that expose OriginalTarget, use that property to identify the anonymous control the user interacted with.

AppearanceKey

It's the name of the appearance in the theme that a control uses to style itself in the browser.

The value is null by default, which means that the control will use its default appearance name.

info

Retrieve the default appearance name by casting the control to Wisej.Core.IWisejControl, like this: ((Wisej.Core.IWisejControl)this).AppearanceKey;

AllowDrag

Enables a control to initiate Drag & Drop operations. When false (default), drag & drop is disabled for the control.

AllowDrop

Enables a control to be the target of the Drag & Drop operation. When false (default), the control will deny the drop operation.

Capture

When true, all pointer events, anywhere on the browser and on any control, are captured and redirected to the control capturing the pointer. A resize action is an example of capturing the pointer.

Raises MouseCaptureChanged on the control losing the capture and on the control gaining the capture.

Movable

Set Movable to true to let the user drag the control to a new location. The control raises StartMove and EndMove and updates its Location property. See Move & Resize.

ResizableEdges

Select which edges the user can drag to resize the control. The control raises StartResize and EndResize and updates its Size property. See Move & Resize.

Dock

Docking positions a control against an edge of its parent or fills the available area. The order of controls in the parent collection determines docking priority; the parent's padding reduces the available area.

Anchor

Anchoring keeps selected edges of a control at a fixed distance from the corresponding edges of its parent. Anchoring opposite edges lets the control resize with its parent. See Layouts.

BackgroundImage

Use BackgroundImage or BackgroundImageSource to specify an image behind the control's content. BackgroundImageLayout determines how that image is positioned or scaled.

States

Use States to apply system or custom state names to a control. The theme defines the appearance associated with those states.

ClientEvents

The ClientEvents collection associates JavaScript handlers with events raised in the browser. The handler receives the event as e. See Client Events.

CssClass & CssStyle

Use CssStyle to apply inline CSS to the widget's main element. Use CssClass to assign one or more CSS classes defined in a stylesheet.

InitScript

Use InitScript for JavaScript that runs when the control is first created in the browser. In this script, this refers to the client-side widget.

Enabled

Set Enabled to false to disable the control and its children. A control remains disabled while any parent is disabled, even if its own Enabled property was set to true.

Visible

Set Visible to show or hide a control, or call Show() or Hide(). A control remains hidden while any parent is hidden. The designer can display hidden controls so you can continue editing them.

ShowLoader

Set ShowLoader to true to block the control with a loading indicator. Use Application.ShowLoader to block the entire page. For long operations, send the loader update to the browser before starting the work; see Common Properties.

TabStop & TabIndex

TabStop determines whether a control participates in keyboard tab navigation. TabIndex determines its position within its parent's tab order. See Tab Order.

ToolTipText

Set ToolTipText to provide a short description when the user hovers over the control. The ToolTip component and the theme provide additional appearance settings.
