Subscription and Renewals
Wisej.NET licenses are only available on a subscription basis. A subscription lasts for a 12 month period and will renew automatically. Subscriptions include all current and upcoming versions of Wisej.NET within the subscription period.

How long do I get free upgrades?
Developer and Server licenses come with a 12-month subscription. You get access to newer versions of Wisej.NET for as long as the subscription is active.
License Agreement
Wisej End User License Agreement (v2.0)
IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY
This End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal license agreement between you ("You" and "Your" includes a person and/or a legal entity) and Ice Tea Group LLC ("ITG"), for the Wisej Software (“WISEJ”), which may include the user manual, any associated software components, any media, any other printed materials, and any online or electronic documentation. READ THE TERMS OF THIS EULA CAREFULLY. BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING WISEJ, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS EULA. WRITTEN ASSENT IS NOT A PREREQUISITE TO THE VALIDITY OR ENFORCEABILITY OF THIS EULA. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS EULA, DO NOT INSTALL, COPY OR USE THE SOFTWARE. WISEJ IS LICENSED, NOT SOLD.
GRANT OF LICENSE.
This EULA grants you a perpetual, nonexclusive license to use WISEJ Developer or WISEJ Server in binary code form only, subject to the restrictions of the specific license type you have purchased.
RESTRICTIONS
You may not install WISEJ on a deployment server or on a server used by a third-party entity without a valid WISEJ Server license. You may not modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from WISEJ, in whole or in part, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation. You may not rent, sell, lease, or lend WISEJ without prior written consent from ITG. You may not publish or publicly distribute license codes, access codes, unlock codes, passwords, or other end-user-specific registration information that would allow a third party to activate WISEJ without a valid license.
TRANSFER
You may transfer WISEJ and accompanying written materials on a permanent basis, provided: (i) you retain no copies; (ii) the recipient expressly agrees to the terms of this EULA; (iii) you contact ITG prior to the transfer to inform ITG of such transfer; and (iv)the transfer is part of a larger transaction, which includes a sale or transfer of the right to develop and sell Your applications that work in conjunction with WISEJ or a sale of substantially all of Your business. Upon such transfer, your license under this EULA is automatically terminated.
SUPPORT SERVICES
ITG may provide you with support services related to WISEJ as described in the online documentation and/or other ITG-provided materials as they may be modified from time to time. Any supplemental WISEJ code provided to you shall be considered part of WISEJ and subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA.
TERMINATION
Without prejudice to any other rights, ITG may terminate this EULA if you fail to comply with any of the material terms and conditions of this EULA. In such an event, you must uninstall and/or destroy all copies of WISEJ. You may terminate this license at any time by destroying the original and all copies of WISEJ in whatever form.
NO OTHER RIGHTS
ITG claims and reserves title to WISEJ, ITG trademarks, service marks, trade names, icons and logos, any and all copyright rights, patent rights, trade secrets rights, and other intellectual property rights and proprietary rights throughout the world, and all confidential information, and all rights and benefits afforded by available the United States and international laws and international treaty provisions protecting copyright and other intellectual property rights. You acknowledge that this EULA does not transfer title to the intellectual property in WISEJ to you. You further acknowledge that you will not acquire any rights to WISEJ whatsoever except as expressly set forth in this license. Nothing herein shall be construed to limit the rights of ITG to use, modify, adapt, or enhance WISEJ, or any derivative works based on WISEJ, for their own purposes.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend ITG and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, sub-licensees, agents, and representatives from and against all losses, expenses (including but not limited to all attorney’s fees, expert fees, and other legal expenses), judgments, claims, demands, suits, or other actions, that arise or result from the use or distribution of your application(s), except to the extent caused by willful misconduct by ITG.
PRIVACY
When you activate or validate your WISEJ license (Developer or Server), we record the public IP Address and MAC Address of the device using the license. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL, COPY OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
LIMITED WARRANTY
ITG warrants that WISEJ will perform substantially in accordance with the accompanying written materials for a period of 90 days from the date of your purchase of a WISEJ license. ITG DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, AND ITG SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO WISEJ AND THE ACCOMPANYING WRITTEN MATERIALS. ITG has no obligation to assist in your installation or use of WISEJ or to provide services or maintenance of any type with respect to WISEJ unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing. You acknowledge that WISEJ may contain errors or bugs. You must determine whether WISEJ sufficiently meets your requirements. This disclaimer and limitation of representations and warranties constitute an essential part of this EULA.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

IN ANY EVENT, ITG’S LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY, WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF USD $1.00.
MISCELLANEOUS
If any provision of this EULA is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be modified only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable. This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland irrespective of any conflicts of law principles. You agree that any legal action arising out of or in connection with this EULA shall be brought in the state or federal courts, as appropriate, in Montgomery County, Maryland, USA. The applicability of the United Nations Convention of Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This EULA is the entire agreement between you and ITG relating to WISEJ and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written communications, proposals and representations with respect to WISEJ or any other subject matter covered by this EULA.
Parallel to the release of Wisej.NET 3, we introduced a new license model. Starting April 15th, 2022, Wisej.NET is only available on a subscription basis.
Existing licenses following the Wisej 2 license model remain valid but cannot use newer releases after the maintenance period has expired. We encourage all customers to switch to Wisej.NET 3.

Do you offer source code access or escrow options?
There are 2 levels that we offer:
Named escrow: The customer is added by name to the escrow account, and we simply pass on the cost. The last quote we had was about $850/year.
Free built-in Source Code privileges are included as part of our : the licensee will get the full source code in case of bankruptcy or inability to maintain the product.
Wisej.NET Developer
Can I use my Wisej.NET Developer license on multiple machines?
No. Each Wisej.NET Developer license can be activated on one machine only. If you would like to use Wisej.NET at work and at home, you can obtain a free Wisej.NET Developer Community edition for your home setup. If you have multiple machines at work, you will need several licenses.
Do I need a separate Wisej.NET Developer license for CI/CD and Build processes?
You will need one Wisej.NET Developer license for each machine using the Wisej.NET development environment. If builds are made from a CI/CD pipeline or on a separate build server that needs a local Wisej.NET Developer installation, you will have to get a separate license for this machine.
What happens when my subscription expires?
For commercial editions of Wisej.NET Developer, licenses are perpetual. You will continue to have access to your current version, but you will not get access to updates to future versions once the subscription expires.
Wisej.NET Developer Community Edition can only be used with an active subscription.
Wisej.NET Server
Can I use my Wisej.NET Server license on multiple machines?
The number of server instances per license depends on the Wisej.NET Server edition. Each machine with a Wisej.NET Server installation will have to be properly licensed. Next to your production server, you might need additional licenses for staging, testing, and demo purposes. Depending on your organization and requirements, different license options come into play. For example, the Wisej.NET Server Enterprise license, allows you to operate several active Wisej.NET Server instances.
Do I need a Wisej.NET Server license for standby or backup servers?
Yes. You will need a Wisej.NET Server license for each machine with an active Wisej.NET installation. Some Wisej.NET Server editions include the option to deploy Wisej.NET to several server instances.
I have to move my setup from one machine to another. Do I have to buy a new license?
No, as long as the two are not active at the same time. If you deactivate and remove Wisej.NET on the old machine and then install and activate it on the new machine, a new license is not required. If you want to keep the old and the new server both active for a while, you will need to have a license for both machines.
What happens when my subscription expires?
For commercial editions of Wisej.NET, Server licenses are perpetual. You will continue to have access to your current version, but you will not receive updates to future versions once the subscription expires.
How are "cores", "apps", or "concurrent users" calculated?

Can I run one application in multiple IIS Application Pools on the same server?
Yes. If one application is started multiple times in different application pools on the same server, this application is still counted as 1 activation.

Looking for development options that can be deployed as standalone apps across different platforms? Wisej.NET Hybrid apps can run on Android, iOS, MacOS (Catalyst), and Windows. They can run in connected mode (accessing a Wisej.NET web server) or run fully disconnected using an embedded local web server (for offline usage). Hybrid apps can interact seamlessly with hardware interfaces such as camera, contacts, and device connectivity.

Wisej.NET Hybrid comes in two variations:

Activations
Number of server instances that can be activated for a single key. Running the server on more than one instance can be helpful for load balancing, hot-standby, or testing scenarios. The total number of activations may not exceed the given limits.
Activations may not be shared outside the licensee’s organization. Reselling, bundling or embedding of Wisej.NET Server licenses is only permitted with a valid Wisej.NET Reseller Agreement or as part of the .

On-Premise Installations
If Wisej.NET Server is used on two machines, such as a production environment and in a separate test environment, two server instances have to be licensed. This can be two different licenses or one license with two activations (depending on edition).
AWS EC2 and other Virtual Machines or Containers (i.e. Docker)
If Wisej.NET Server is being used in a containerized setup (such as VM, Docker, etc.), the maximum number of actively running Wisej.NET server instances across all containers has to be licensed. If up to 20 containers can be active at a time and each container has one Wisej.NET Server instance, 20 server activations have to be licensed.
Microsoft Azure App Service and other Hosted Application Services
If an application is deployed to a managed application hosting service such as Azure App Service, you will need a Wisej.NET Server license with enough activations to match the maximum number of running instances in your . You can host unlimited Wisej.NET applications (i.e. URL or endpoint) on each instance.
Offline Activation
Server installations have to be connected to the internet in order to get properly activated. Offline activation is available to selected license types.

Wisej.AI
With Wisej.AI, business applications can be seamlessly integrated with cutting-edge AI capabilities and services. In order to use Wisej.AI as part of the Technology Partner program, a yearly AI Package is required to provide developers with access to code and support on Wisej.AI. The AI Package is required in addition to the Wisej.NET TP Base Package.
Wisej.AI features can be used at runtime only when using Wisej.NET TP Server with Wisej.AI. In this case, a Wisej.NET TP Server (without AI) is not required.
Wisej.NET Hybrid
Wisej.NET Hybrid allows developers to build cross-platform applications for Android, iOS, MacOS (Catalyst), and Windows. Such apps can run online (connected to a server) or offline (disconnected from external services). They have the ability to interact with native device features and interfaces.
Wisej.NET Embedded
Wisej.NET Server can be used in low-power environments such as Industrial Automation, Industry 4.0, or IoT scenarios. It is possible to run Wisej.NET on embedded devices that may require specific builds of Wisej.NET to cope with the limitations of these environments (e. g. stripped-down versions of Linux).
Specifically for Technology Partners, we make Wisej.NET Server available in an upon request. The Embedded version can be used for up to 25 clients on embedded hardware options.
Source Code Access
Access to the full source code of Wisej.NET for internal purposes is available exclusively to Technology Partners, starting at USD $7,900/year.
The Technology Partner agreement contains special conditions and restrictions that apply if source code access is requested. Source Code Access does not include Wisej.AI.
Technology Partner Extensions
Wisej.NET comes with a huge set of controls and extensions available to all editions of Wisej.NET Developer. There are extensions exclusively available for Technology Partners, including all .
Priority Support and Private Repository
Named support users can log and track issues directly using a private Wisej.NET repository on GitHub. We provide rapid solutions, workarounds, patches, or alternative approaches as quickly as possible to Technology Partners.
Issues must be related to Wisej.NET and owned projects. Software companies that work on projects for a third party must open a Technology Partner subscription for the owner of the project in order to log issues related to third party projects.
Advisory Services
Technology Partners benefit from a close collaboration with our Wisej.NET core team. Get access to tips & tricks, engage us to support you with mentoring and advisory services on application architectures or modernization efforts.
Technology Partner requests are handled with priority. Services outside our support offering are billed based on time & material.
Single Key Deployments
Technology Partners receive single bulk keys at lower prices and add or remove licenses on demand.
Added licenses are billed for the prorated amount to the end of the current renewal period. Removed licenses are excluded from the renewal cost at the start of the renewal period.
Bulk License Prices
Technology Partners benefit from lower license costs compared to the Wisej.NET standard licensing plan. All licenses are perpetual and include 1 year of free updates. Current license usage is reported on a quarterly basis following a pay-per-use model.
Reseller Discounts
Technology Partner acting as resellers receive larger reseller discounts. Please refer to the Reseller Program datasheet or contact . Reseller discounts are not applicable to own purchases.
Source Code Privileges
There is a free built-in escrow privilege for Technology Partners. In case of bankruptcy or inability to maintain Wisej, Technology Partners will get access to the full source code for internal purposes in order to maintain their applications built upon the Wisej.NET technology stack.
Priority Bugfixes Warranty
Bugs with a reproducible test case will be moved to the front of the queue and addressed in the next possible build. To make sure your issues get resolved as quick as possible, we will also provide a workaround, if possible.
